Grace and Carl Moon met at the Grand Canyon in 1909, and quickly bonded over a shared interest in indigenous peoples of the American southwest. They wrote and illustrated children’s books sympathetically portraying Native characters, often with Native girls as protagonists. My wife Mary put one of them online 15 years ago during the long US public domain freeze.
